The Maleny Network Meeting - Monday 17th October.
Thank you Karen for MCing the night and thank you to Brenda for the notes.
Please let me know by return email if you would like to volunteer for notes or MCing at upcoming meetings.
We also need someone to volunteer to be “In charge” of cleaning up with the help of others after each
meeting.
These roles can change each time of course. Many hands make light work!
Thank you to those who have already RSVP’d.
____________
Karin Knipper was our M.C.
Chez McElligott gave a talk
and demonstration on Essential Oils. She explained that they were safe and effective for use on humans but not animals – unless oils are diluted.
Some commonly used medications are toxic to our bodies, especially with frequent and long-term use, e.g. Panadol, Ibuprofen (Nurofen), Thyroid tablets, Zyloprim (Allopurinol) for gout, and Calcium supplements.
Also harmful - the antiseptic
Dettol; too many vitamin supplements may not be absorbed; chronic infections can remain in the body and hide in the spine and joints.
Colloidal Silver can also be harmful to our cells. In spite of it’s medically documented 90-year history of safe and effective use, the FDA actually ruled that colloidal silver can no
longer be sold in the United States if it is described as an ‘Infection-fighting agent’. Instead, it can now only be described as a ‘mineral supplement’. Short term use can be helpful as an infection-fighting agent, but this still causes inflammation around the cells, as the ion is too large to enter the cell.
Herbs are best used fresh as over time our bodies may become immune to dried
herbs. It takes huge quantities of herbs to make a small amount of essential oil. Steam distillation is the most common method of producing highly concentrated essential oils.
Pure, good quality essential oils do not cause any harm to our bodies and they have a healing frequency which can be measured. Oils do not kill bugs in our bodies, but they ingest them.
There are many cures for cancer and Chez recommended “The Truth about Cancer” https://thetruthaboutcancer.com/essential-oils-for-cancer/
Oils must be pure and therapeutic-grade. Synthetic oils used as directed in the ‘Essential Oil Desk Reference’ would cause a deterioration in health. Use only pure oils for healing regimes.
Some commonly used essential oils to have in
your First Aid kit:
Oils can be applied locally and most can also be taken via the mouth – check the label.
After about 20 minutes the oil will disappear but its effects will continue working.
• Lavender oil - for allergies and stings.
• “Aroma Life” - for mini-strokes, under the tongue, and on the sides of the lungs.
• Frankincense - for skin cancers.
• Apple Cider Vinegar and Peppermint oil - for heartburn (peppermint oil applied on back of the neck - not
near the eyes)
Applications of citrus oils (lime, lemon, bergamot) can burn the skin if exposed to sunlight.
Only citrus oils need to be refrigerated – others will last for many years.
