A hospital that is run on biblical ethics (as they believe it to be) which does not perform abortions.
The following is from George Christensen at CitizenGO…
Two weeks ago, thousands of CitizenGO’s Australian members courageously signed our letter of demand, urging the ACT Government to abandon its plans to take over Calvary Hospital. Our collective efforts, combined with the Catholic Church's petition boasting tens of thousands of signatures, and the Australian Christian Lobby's public protest last month, have demonstrated the power of our
pro-life community.
The current situation: Despite our best efforts, last week the ACT legislature ignored the will of the people and voted to approve the forced takeover of Calvary. This decision not only undermines private property rights and religious freedom; it also endangers the lives
of Canberra's unborn babies, as Calvary will become a hospital that offers abortion procedures once under state control.
Hope is on the horizon: The fight isn't over yet! Calvary Hospital's management is challenging the
takeover in the courts, and pressure is mounting on the federal government to intervene. Influential leaders such as Liberal leader Peter Dutton and former Prime Ministers Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison have all declared their opposition to the ACT government's takeover. Many Australian Catholic Bishops have become incensed over the matter so much so that the hospital takeover has been brought to the attention of the Vatican.
Our plans going forward: CitizenGO is closely monitoring the situation and devising new strategies to continue our efforts in protecting Calvary Hospital. In the coming week, we will unveil a new phase of our campaign that will add pressure the federal government to intervene. Stay tuned
for another email detailing this next step and how you can join us in making a difference.
Together, we can make a difference and save Calvary Hospital from this unjust takeover and, in doing so, defend the sanctity of life.
